What is the Rosary Run?

St. Mary of Victories Church, established in St. Louis way back in 1843 is where tradition meets today at the 3rd annual Saint Louis Rosary Run!  This 5K Run (or walk), Fun Run (or walk), and Marian Procession will take place on October 12, 2019.

This isn't an ordinary athletic event, although the route we've chosen will be both interesting and challenging.  We envision this race to be an exciting and unifying event which will be a joyous celebration of faith, family, fitness and fun for the entire region.  With both the 5K and Fun Run, you'll get a chance to test your athletic prowess, and see bits of St. Louis that you may never have had the opportunity to see.  The course will start and finish at St. Mary of Victories and will be followed by a Marian Procession, blessing of religious articles and awards ceremony. All the routes welcome walkers, and we will have a special, shorter "Fun Run" route which would be ideal for kids and families!  It will truly be a means of uniting neighborhoods, schools, families and faith traditions.  Sign up for the 5K or Fun Run by clicking here.  (Priests, Deacons, Religious and other clergy can run for free!)

There is no other Devotion in Motion like this which lets runners and spectators take their prayers to the streets in St. Louis.  Race participants will be provided Rosary rings to aid their efforts while taking to the streets. We also plan to have "mile" markers, marking the Mysteries of the Rosary, to aid their progress. It is exciting to imagine thousands of people (runners, walkers, volunteers and spectators) offering public prayers through the Rosary, or whatever means of prayer or meditation that may suit their tradition.

We also encourage participating parishes and businesses we pass along the route to showcase something unique to their institution for crowd support along the route... parish choir, school bands, cheer teams, or just the site of religious in clerical dress as visible inspiration.

Tie up your laces, and bring on the graces!

We warmly welcome you, whatever your faith background to participate in this unique, positive, and family-friendly event in St. Louis this October!  More details will be made available on this website and announced via our e-mail list (sign up here) as the event nears.

Klara"The Divine Mercy Mile" is a shorter route measuring about one mile, designed for the casual runner or for those that might want to stroll along at a more leisurely pace.
